How The Hips Affect Both: Us And Our Horse

15 mins

Do you feel stiff in the saddle? Do you feel like you’re "fighting" your horse with every stride instead of flowing together? It all starts in the hips. If they are locked, your horse's movement ends in your lower back, and their back will stiffen right under you. In this video, we are launching a series on rider biomechanics. But fair warning – just watching isn’t enough. The first step toward an independent seat is becoming aware of your own limits. 📝 YOUR ASSIGNMENT: Grab a pen and paper. While watching, write down the following: What do you feel in your own body? What specifically do you want to improve about your seat? What is your horse showing you? Am I breathing consciously? Once you put this on paper, you stop just "riding" and start truly perceiving your body. Let’s get to work!
